Free online CNA classes
In these tough economic times, it can be difficult to get ahead in the world especially if you want to start a career in the health care industry.
However, you can get your foot in the door, and get a jump start on your rewarding career in the medical profession today for free.
Sure becoming a CNA, or certified nursing assistant, isn't the most glamorous position in the world, however it helps you get your foot in the door, out into the working world, and opens new doors for advancement to becoming a registered nurse, or even a doctor.
You won't find many free classes on becoming a doctor, so you will have to settle for getting yourself in on the ground floor, without breaking the bank.
Now, there are a number of ways you can go about getting yourself into some free CNA classes:
Through the Red Cross:
The red cross often offers free CNA classes, to help the current shortage of medical professionals out there. You can find out how to get into these classes, by getting into contact with your local Red Cross association and seeing when they have classes available.
Now, you won't be finishing the CNA classes, and getting certified, as fast as you would by taking a paid course at a college or nursing school, but it will give you the training you need to get ahead.
What is especially good about the free CNA classes available from the Red Cross, is that they understand that in today's world you are always keeping busy, and may not always be able to take a class in the morning. They often will have afternoon, or even evening classes to help accommodate your busy schedule.
One of the downsides to getting free CNA classes through the Red Cross, is that you might have to wait a while to get into one. They sometimes have rather long waiting lists, and many times there is a criteria of becoming a volunteer of the Red Cross in exchange, and even your grades will matter in some cases.
Getting a Scholarship:
In some states, you can get yourself placed on a list for getting free CNA classes. Of course, you will be expected to keep those grades up, and offer your services as a volunteer in many cases, however it is a really good way to help get your foot in the door, and if you have a scholarship, you will be able to finish the course sooner, than if you go through say the red cross. This will let you get out into the working world sooner, and let you build up your bankroll to continue your studies, and climb the ladder to the position you desire in the medical field.
Get an Apprenticeship:
Sometimes hospitals or nursing homes can't get enough fresh blood to cover all their staffing needs. So in exchange for them paying your way into a CNA training class, they will expect that you work for them for a period of anywhere between 2 and 5 years, as a way of thanking them. |
